今年秋、京都・上賀茂にある瑞雲庵を舞台として、第二回目となる「京都モザイク展ーひびく」を開催します。

今回のテーマは「ひびく」。海外作家19名と国内作家11名のモザイク作家による作品展、そして、特別展として「モザイクが動いたー矢橋六郎の大理石モザイク」を同時展示します。

もと両替商の邸宅だった和の空間に現代作家の作品がひびきあり、新たな調和をかもしだします。また、蔵の空間では、旧京都商工会議所ビルに埋め込まれていた矢橋六郎氏が手がけた「十二支」を、すべて揃えて公開します。

築100年の建物を舞台として、時間と空間を超え、北山にひびくモザイクの美をご覧ください。

This fall, we are holding the second Kyoto Mosaic Exhibition, this time with the theme "hibiku" at Zuiun-an, a traditional 'machiya' townhouse of a former money exchanger with a beautiful tearoom and garden in the Kamigamo neighborhood of Kyoto.

19 mosaic artists from overseas will exhibit their works together with 11 mosaic artists who reside in Japan. A special parallel exhibition, ＂Moving Marble—Preserving Yabashi Rokuro’s ＇Japanese Zodiac’ Mosaic" rescued from the former Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry building will be displayed in its entirety in the traditional 'kura' warehouse on the same premises.

The display of contemporary mosaicists’ works together with the work of a former Japanese mosaic master artist in these traditional Japanese spaces will echo off of one another to produce a new type of resonance.

"Hibiku" means "to resound "or "to echo". "Kitayama" means "north mountain" and is the area located in the northern part of the city of Kyoto.

We invite you to appreciate the beauty of mosaics that echo here and now, beyond time and space, to create a new mosaic culture in Kitayama.
